Mr. Elson Matavire, a distinguished Land Surveyor in Zimbabwe, brings over twenty-three years of extensive experience in both academic and practical surveying. As the Director and Principal Surveyor of his firm, Mr. Matavire is committed to delivering top-tier surveying services that exceed client expectations. His approach is centered on addressing client concerns, providing lasting solutions, and continuously seeking improvements in service delivery. Mr. Matavire is known for his innovative and flexible methods, all while upholding the highest industry standards. He ensures that all projects are completed in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
Mr. Matavire, is a highly qualified Land Surveyor with a recognized certificate from the Surveyor-General (Examining Board) and a registration certificate from the Council of Land Surveyors in Zimbabwe. He holds a Bachelor of Science Honours degree in Surveying from the University of Zimbabwe, a Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management from Project Management Zimbabwe, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Applied Corporate Governance and Strategic Leadership from Midlands State University (MSU). Additionally, he earned a National Diploma in Surveying from Harare Polytechnic.
Over the past nineteen years, Mr. Matavire has honed his skills as a Land-Surveyor-in-Training under the mentorship of Mr. Rodrick R. Chigumete, a former Surveyor-General of Zimbabwe. His training also included valuable experience gained under the guidance of Land Surveyor Terence M. Juru from 1999 to 2005, and the late Land Surveyor Alex Mapfumo from 1996 to 1997.

Mr. Matavire played a pivotal role in the formation of Africa Surveys Zimbabwe (Pvt) Ltd, alongside esteemed Land Surveyors such as Mr. Rodrick R. Chigumete and Mr. Lyndon C. Kashangura of Kashangura Associates. Throughout his career, Mr. Matavire has gained extensive experience in the application of advanced surveying technologies, including the Geographical Positioning System (GPS), Land Surveying, Blanket Aerial Photography, Ground Control and Engineering Surveys, Digital Mapping, and Volumetric Calculations of Stockpiles. He is also proficient in Base Mapping and Geographical Information Systems (GIS).
In addition to his technical expertise, Mr. Matavire has developed strong competencies in project management, human resource management, strategic planning, and leadership. His hands-on experience in both fieldwork and office data processing makes him highly capable of managing projects independently. Mr. Matavire’s involvement in significant projects for major companies such as Unki Mine, Zimplats Mines, Maligreen Mine, Todal Mine, Zimphos, Commercial Bank of Zimbabwe (CBZ), and Old Mutual has equipped him with invaluable insights into communication, human relations, and Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
